An enchanting moment in the heart of the French Riviera

Discover the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and its lavish gardens

The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is located on the stunning peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. This magnificent palace, listed as a Historic Monument since 1996, was voted the “Favorite Monument of the French” for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

The Villa houses an exceptional collection of masterpieces: fine art objects, rare porcelain, richly decorated salons, and private apartments arranged as if Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild still lived there.

From the French garden to the exotic one, passing through its Roseraie

An invitation to travel

Only a 20-minute drive from our Hotel La Pérouse Nice, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is surrounded by nine magnificent gardens, each inspired by different botanical themes, offering a unique atmosphere. These include:

  • The French garden, with its centuries-old olive trees and elegant waterfall, dominated by the Temple of Love, where you can admire the fountains dancing to the rhythm of the music below;
  • The Lapidary Garden, where you can discover gargoyles from ancient civil or religious buildings, surrounded by woodland plants;
  • The Japanese Garden, which invites to meditation with its soft wave sounds, featuring plants from Asia;
  • La Roseraie, which showcases numerous varieties of roses, dominated by a small temple housing an allegorical statue of the source.

Each of these gardens invites you to wander, contemplate, and discover different botanical worlds, offering you a true journey through the cultures of the world.

Fun fact: The French garden was designed in the shape of a boat bridge, adorned with waterfalls and a pond, with the Temple of Love at the bow. This design allowed Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild to imagine herself aboard a boat, seeing the sea on either side of the building.
